What a workmanship guarantee covers

A workmanship guarantee is our promise that the work was carried out correctly. If a problem arises because of how we did the work, within the guarantee period and subject to the conditions below, we'll put it right. Manufacturer material warranties are separate and depend on the specific products used. A product warranty is not automatic cover for every material or every defect.

Selected roofing materials may also include a separate manufacturer's product warranty, subject to the manufacturer's registration requirements, exclusions and terms. This is separate from Quantock Roofing's workmanship guarantee.

Our guarantees are workmanship guarantees provided directly by Quantock Roofing. They are not an insurance policy.

Reasonable exclusions

The guarantee covers defects caused by our workmanship. Unrelated damage and causes outside that work are excluded. An exclusion does not remove our responsibility for defective work or your legal rights.

• • Storm, flood, fire or accidental damage.
• • Damage caused by third parties or other trades.
• • Structural movement or subsidence.
• • Defects in parts of the property we did not work on.
• • Blocked or poorly maintained gutters and outlets.
• • Condensation caused by unrelated ventilation or occupancy issues.
• • Animal, bird or pest damage.
• • Unauthorised alterations or repairs carried out after we finish.
• • General wear and tear and the natural ageing of materials.
• • Failure of existing materials retained at the customer's request.
• • Problems resulting from information or defects concealed before work began.

Conditions

• • Cover defects resulting directly from Quantock Roofing's workmanship.
• • Apply only to the work listed in the written quotation or contract.
• • Begin on the date of practical completion.
• • Apply only after the invoice has been paid in full.
• • Require you to report any problem promptly.
• • Require reasonable access for inspection and remedial work.
• • If you are selling your home, contact us to check the transfer terms in your original guarantee documents.
• • Do not replace or reduce your statutory consumer rights.

How to report a problem

Contact us with the property address, completion date or invoice reference, and a description of what has changed. Photographs taken safely from the ground can help. Keep a copy of your quotation and guarantee documents.

We will review the details and arrange access for inspection where needed. See our complaints process if you need to raise a concern.

Your consumer rights

Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Your rights under consumer law are separate from this additional guarantee and are not limited to its stated duration. Read GOV.UK consumer rights guidance.
